Toilet Paper Holders
Though you may not think about toilet paper holders very often, they are something that every needs. You can get
away without having one, but for the most part they are something you find in every bathroom. They are very inexpensive, but they are also
a royal pain for me. I have never had one that worked well, or stayed securely in the wall, and if there were another way, I would take it.
When something falls apart every single time you use it, you start to get very frustrated.
When you put toilet paper holders, I strongly suggest you use cement. I know it’s not pretty, but that’s just the
way I feel. You need concrete and huge bolts to keep them in the wall. If you try to install toilet paper holders in to drywall, you might
have success when you first put it in, but within a few months you will notice that it has started to loosen up, and you may also find that
they fall apart rather easily.
I have lived in my current home for two years and we have gone though three different toilet paper holders. The
first was the one that was here when we moved in. It lasted about a month if I remember correctly. Once they start to loosen from the wall
you might as well forget it. The toilet paper holders are done for once the drywall starts to give, and you will find that
the bar that holds the paper falls out when you pull on the paper when you need it.
The second of our toilet paper holders we had could probably have been reinstalled had I not gotten mad and
tossed it into the garbage can. It wasn’t an expensive one, that I do realize, but it was really a pain. Like the first one, the bar kept
falling out of the holder and I was tired of catching the paper every single time I tried to unroll it. My daughter has just turned five,
so she’s just starting to learn to use toilet paper holders with any success. She was having a harder time than I was. I
thought if I threw it out it would force my husband to buy one that might just stay in the wall. It worked, and we’ve had our current one
for over a year. I’m keeping my fingers crossed.
